The recalled products can contain bacteria, including Burkholderia cepacia complex, Klebsiella aerogenes and multiple different species of Pseudomonas, many of which are environmental organisms found widely in soil and water, and some may also be found in humans. People with weakened immune systems, external medical devices, and underlying lung conditions who are exposed to the bacteria face a risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment. The bacteria can enter the body if inhaled, or through the eyes or a break in the skin. People with healthy immune systems are usually not affected by the bacteria.
You should immediately stop using the recalled products. To determine if your product is included you can look at the lot code printed on the bottom of the bottle. To start with, please check if it the lot code begins with a prefix letter F, H or T. Products with the following lot codes are included in the recall:
- Products with lot codes that begin with the letter F and the last four digits are numbered 9354 or less
- Products with lot codes that begin with the letter H and the last four digits are numbered 2262 or less
- Products with lot codes that begin with the letter T and the last four digits are numbered 5264 or less
If you have already submitted a request for reimbursement, there is no need to submit an additional request. However, please do check all your products to see if they are included in the final recall list. Now that the work with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada is complete, we are able to begin processing reimbursement requests. Reimbursement methods will vary by country. For U.S. and Canada, you will receive a check in up to 8-10 weeks.
